Daugavpils – Dinamo Riga has fallen in their opening warm-up game ahead of the 2012/2013 KHL season, losing to Dinamo Minsk 2-1 on Friday.

The hosts' only goal came via new signing Alexandre Giroux in the 34^th minute after Dinamo Minsk picked up both of their goals earlier in the game.

After guarding the goal for the opening two periods, Mikael Tellqvist handed over goaltending duties to Maris Jucers for the final frame.

Dinamo Riga's build up continues on Wednesday when they take on second-division Russian club Neftyanik Almetievsk.
