RIGA – Dinamo Riga has extended its ties with veteran forward Girts Ankipans for one more season.
The 36-year-old Latvian is one of the last remaining members of the Dinamo Riga team that took to the ice for the inaugural KHL season.
Last season Ankipans saw his time on the ice restricted to just 31 regular season games as he battled with injuries. In his 31 appearances, the former Latvian national team player produced six goals and six assists. In four playoff games, he failed to pick up any points.
In his four years of donning the maroon of Dinamo Riga, Ankipans has appeared in 205 games, providing 30 goals and 43 assists, earning a net efficiency of +6.
